Passion of Christ Event

The Passion of Christ play is at the heart of Soul By The Sea, Brighton’s new three-day Easter Festival, and it brings the story of Jesus’ life to one of the nation’s most diverse, creative and passionate communities.

The Passion of Christ is a free open-air play to be held during Easter Sunday on the Soul By The Sea beachfront stage, east of the Palace Pier.

To achieve this large-scale outdoor production, theatre professionals are once again collaborating with the community, drawing on the talented people of Brighton and Hove, and the surrounding locality.

'Life of Christ', Wintershall, Surrey

Building on the success of last year’s seafront passion play, this year’s Passion of Christ brings together people from an even greater mix of backgrounds and nationalities, including those originally from Europe, the Philippines, Persia and Egypt.

The Passion of Christ tells of the days leading up to Jesus’ arrest and his death, and of his resurrection, all of which is central to the Christian faith and the celebration of Easter.
